Here at Tools Inc. we fabricate medium and large progressive dies; some are small three to four station single part out dies, while others are over 120” long, have in excess of ten stations, and produce multiple pieces.

We incorporate in-die sensing not only to protect the die, but also to better monitor performance and to assure part location within the tool itself. Many of the progressive dies built here at Tools Inc. employ aerial cams, nitrogen pressure systems and ball lock punch and die retainers. Progressive dies are very similar to transfer dies. This type of die employs what is called a walking beam and essentially carries the part from one station to the next sans the carrier strip of the progressive die and is timed to the stroke of the press.
